Vast' mission is through collaboration, education, and advocacy; we empower survivors and encourage our community to take action in the anti-trafficking movement. We do this through:
Collaboration: Our strategy is to align all parties’ interests and resources for greater impact in ending local trafficking. We collaborate with service providers, faith communities, individual citizens, law enforcement, institutions, and businesses.
Awareness: Inform, educate, and train on human trafficking, trauma, and demand to cultivate a need for change.
Action: Unite, equip, and mobilize in collaboration with the community to activate change.
Aftercare: Comprehensive care, empowerment, and outreach to respond to the needs of survivors.
Vast works with community partners in order to help meet the needs of survivors of trafficking. We work with a long term residential home to provide survivors with:
Shelter, food, utilities, clothing, personal hygiene supplies, medical care, group therapy, individual trauma informed therapy, art therapy, dog therapy, yoga, kickboxing, life skills training, emotional life skills, GED preparation, job skills, case management, and transportation through a 24/7 specialized staffing.
Some of our aftercare programs also include:
Volunteers are an integral part of our organization and allow us to accomplish our goals in the fight against sex trafficking. The VAST volunteer team includes counselors, college students, business owners, retirees, parents and concerned neighbors. We have several opportunities in all three areas of our prevention plan so please browse for one that interests you. We hope to work with you soon!
